Being outside is a natural antidepressant that can help ward off seasonal disorders such as SAD, depression and even anxiety. Sunshine naturally increases a hormone called serotonin, which helps elevate our mood. Couple this with endorphins from training and it’s a no-brainer.
Doesn’t Feel As Much Of A Workout
People have often expressed how working out outside can feel much easier, and time flies far more quickly when compared to working out on a treadmill or indoor rowing machine.
Can Be More Social
Outdoor training sessions allow you to see other people, such as passers by but it also allows you to bring family and friends along, so you can train together. Not only does it make it more sociable but it also makes it more likely that you’ll stick with it.
Last but not least, you can also enjoy much fresher air, especially when you’re in the middle of a park, surrounded by trees. Compare this to the stuffy air you’ll likely encounter within the confines of a gym and there’s no comparison.
